Don’t miss it!!!
Some years ago arrived a couple of Argentineans and transformed and old grocery store (almacén) in a rustic & cool restobar. Patagonia is a great deal for any type of meal. At lunch time it has a special menu, and it´s offer goes from exotic meat such as: cordero y el ciervo magallánicos or jabalÃ. Nice place to go!!!
Also it has it´s own store if you want to take something back home.

Chile, isn’t that a kind of hot pepper? Chile, what’s that? Where is it? These are some of the questions that have been heard for many years by Chilean diplomats, exporters and travelers abroad. It appears that Chile’s geographical isolation from the world’s leading industrial and cultural centers has limited knowledge of the country among many people elsewhere.
To remedy this situation — and in keeping with the world trend to consider a country’s international image a relevant component of its competitiveness — the State and the private sector have come together to create a Chile brand, which will help strengthen the country’s messages abroad and allow more effective use of the resources dedicated to communication and marketing.
According to its creators, the “All Ways Surprising” motto integrates three broad ideas: the country’s breathtaking, diverse and unusual geography; its warm, efficient and enterprising inhabitants; and its stability, openness to the world, solid institutions and people who are true to their word.
Rick has contacted us and he recomending the following link. Very interesting!!! Thanks Rick
1. From the Bus terminal:
Take the subway (”metro“) Line 1 (red line) to the Metro Station “Baquedano”, or pick any bus on Av. Libertador Bernardo O´Higgins (everyone just calls it “Alameda“) that says Plaza Italia. As you can see in the map above we are only a few blocks away (4 minute walk) from Plaza Italia and Metro Station “Baquedano” (we recommend you print the map and these instructions in case you forget this stuff). As a reference, the address is Vicuña Mackenna 92-A (a very well known street). If you’re walking from Plaza Italia on Vicuña Mackenna street, you’ll cross the streets Arthuro Burhle, Almirante Simpson, Eulogia Sanchez, Viña del Mar till you get here. This is the cheapest way to get to our hostel.
2. From the airport:
You can pick a taxi at the Airport, the fee shouldn´t be more than US$ 25 (beware that some Chilean taxi drivers may want to rip you off charging by charging extra). You can also pick up a transfer minibus (TRANSVIP or TURBUS) for US$10 aprox at the counter in the airport.
These 2 should prove the easiest and safest ways to get here. Just tell the driver our hostel’s name, address and that it’s right next to Plaza Italia.
The cheapest option (and still a pretty safe one anyway) is to take a bus (CENTROPUERTO, which leave every 15 minutes) right from the Airport. These will leave you in Metro Station “Universidad de Santiago“. Then you do as explained in 1. (take the “metro” and so on).
If you have any questions, please write us!!! We will help you.
